Growth Differentiation Factor 11 (GDF-11) is a TGF-β superfamily protein studied in development and age-related animal models. Early mouse papers reported effects in cardiac hypertrophy, brain vascular or neurogenic measures and skeletal muscle, while later work reported increasing GDF11 with age and inhibited muscle regeneration.
